This living room belonged to an artist who wished to use her space as a gallery for her artwork. She requested to add a neutral accent to the space along with a pop of color. The client also asked to keep the sizeable blue sofa. The designer used this as a starting point and decided to add a Schumacher neutral patterned wallpaper to the ceiling along with a glamorous Kelly Wearstler sputnik chandelier. The slipper chairs were reupholstered in a blush pink velvet fabric to add some softness to the living room. Another unique feature of this project is mixing metals (brass and chrome) for the furnishings – chrome finished side tables and a brass bookcase in the corner which is accessorized with antiques and collectibles. A transitional rug in blue from ABC carpet with complimenting blush pink pillows from West Elm completes the look of the space.
